1. Worship without discipline:
Many people build a temple at home and install deities, but don’t maintain regular worship. Some pray only in the morning, some only light camphor in the evening. Both are incomplete practices. In the evening, it’s essential to light a diya (lamp) and incense. However, avoid heavy smoke or dhooni during evening hours — this is considered "Rahu kaal" (Rahu’s active time), which may invite negative energies and activate Rahu in your birth chart, affecting your home’s peace.
2. Clutter at the entrance:
Leaving footwear or dustbins outside the main entrance is highly inauspicious. Also avoid placing dry flower pots, thorny plants, or wilted greenery. Always keep your entrance clean, decorated, and welcoming. You can frame the entrance with a wooden border to give it a grand look without any structural changes — it’s considered auspicious. Placing peacock feathers or peacock paintings at the entrance and kitchen doorway also brings positivity.
3. Mixing the living and the departed:
Never place photos of living family members alongside those who’ve passed away. For example, don’t place a picture of your child on the same wall with your late parents or grandparents. If the elders are still alive, it’s absolutely fine — but if they’ve passed, don’t place such images on the wall. You may keep them safely elsewhere, but don’t display living and deceased together.
4. Unhappiness or family conflict:
If there’s frequent conflict or lack of harmony at home, place a beautiful family photograph on the west wall. It helps bring emotional bonding and strengthens family ties.
5. Hoarding broken or rusted items:
Avoid keeping broken gadgets, old clocks, rusted tools, unused wires, shoes, and empty containers — especially in the northeast or rooftop area. These block positive energy. Instead, try placing a musical instrument like a guitar, harmonium, or veena in the northwest zone of your house. Playing it occasionally, especially in the evenings, attracts auspicious vibrations and harmony.
