When building a house, one should perform Vastu Puja and Shanti at the time of laying the foundation. Similarly, when the main entrance of the house is constructed and also before moving in during Griha Pravesh, Vastu Puja must be performed.
If you have renovated or reconstructed your house to make it more beautiful and better, you should again conduct Vastu Puja, as it is considered a form of re-establishment.
If you have been away on a long journey and return home after a long interval, it is advised to perform Vastu Puja and Shanti to restore harmony.
When a son is born in your home, Vastu Shanti should also be performed, as a new soul has entered the house and is now connected with the energy of that space.
If certain unusual or negative signs occur in your home, Vastu Shanti becomes essential. These signs include:
A sudden lightning strike on the house
Owls starting to reside in the house
Crows continuously staying for 7 days
Pets or birds making unusual noises at night
Women in the household frequently engaging in fights
Continuous misfortunes or calamities
In all such cases, Vastu Shanti is necessary.
During Griha Pravesh, some signs are considered highly auspicious if seen, such as:
A tied animal (like a cow or bull)
A crown or headgear
A hand fan
Milk or curd
An umbrella
A newly married couple
A lotus flower
Melodious sounds of songs
A deer, elephant, or horse
Seeing these omens at the time of entering your new home is considered very lucky.
The shape of the land also holds great significance in Vastu:
Square land brings happiness and prosperity.
Rectangular land is also considered auspicious.
Gomukhi-shaped land is favorable for residence.
Hexagonal land is considered lucky.
Simhamukhi-shaped land (lion-faced) is auspicious for business purposes.
Vastu Puja should always be conducted by a qualified Acharya (priest).
During Griha Pravesh, there should be no quarrels or fights.
Avoid alcohol and non-vegetarian food.
Seeing snakes, oil, medicines, or a person with an uncovered head during Griha Pravesh is considered inauspicious.
